What You Can Expect

The Real Walk and Talk

Architectural treasures trace nearly 1000 years of history on a gripping and informative 90 minute, 2 hour, 3 hour or full day adventure through the highlights of the city.

A college is discovered around every corner. Film and television locations, and literary landmarks are also dotted along the route.

Sites include

  • Radcliffe Square

  • Bodleian Old Schools Quadrangle

  • 15th century Divinity School

  • Anglos Saxon tower - Oxford’s oldest building

  • Sheldonian Theatre


The Plan

  • Meeting Point

    The Martys Memorial on Broad Street

  • 90 minute tour

    The tour includes the Martyrs Memorial, the Bocardo Gaol and a stroll into the heart of the university passing older colleges, the splendour of Radcliffe Square and the  University centre including  the Clarendon Building, 15th century Divinity School, the Old Schools Quad of the Bodleian Library and Sir Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre 

  • 2 hour tour

    In addition the 2 hour tour includes medieval lanes and quiet back streets, sites relating to CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien in Oxford and more of the university’s colleges.

  • 3 hour tour

    In addition the 3 hour tour includes a further exploration of the backstreets taking in yet more Colleges and reaching out towards the East of the city learning about the Examination Schools, Magdalen College and New College Lane

  • 4 hours to a full day

    The full day tour is typically customised to your interests and may include a visit to the restricted access colleges and sites. It provides more time to discover in depth  the events and sites which heralded Oxford’s rise in science and fantasy literature.
